Decanter is the top-selling wine magazine in the UK and the Decanter World Wine Awards results issue is the only awards issue sold in all the top retailers such as Waitrose, Marks & Spencer, WH Smiths plus specialist wine merchants.
Konditor & Cook received a commission for a handmade biscuit to help promote the Decanter World Wine Awards.
Here they are, all neatly cut out by hand, then iced, waiting to be finished with an inscription.

As if having the Tate Modern Cake photographed by an army of photographers wasn’t enough for one day, we just had ITN News filming background footage at Konditor & Cook, Waterloo.

Konditor & Cook is a great double act and tonight’s news will no doubt reveal more about the new double residing in Downing Street.
So tune in at 7 tonight for a bit of news on Cameron & Clegg and to watch Konditor & Cook’s cake decorator Erin Tate working the piping bags.

Tate Modern is celebrating its 10th Birthday with an enormous Konditor & Cook Lemon Chiffon Cake this morning.

A procession school children, accompanied by music & dancers will set of from Borough Market to Tate Modern. All followed by an official cutting of the cake in the Turbine Hall.

Konditor & Cook at the heart of Bankside - Neo Bankside Video 9 May 2010 by Gerhard

Konditor & Cook has been at the heart of South Bank & Bankside’s regeneration since the first opening behind Waterloo East Station.
In 1998 followed the shop & kitchen on Borough Market. Last year a new store/cafe opened at 63 Stamford St near Gabriel’s Wharf.

It’s not surprising that Konditor & Cook, along Kevin Spacey from the Old Vic, were invited to feature in Bob Brown’s film about Bankside A short film about the benefits of living around Tate Modern and even better still in one of the new Neo Bankside apartments being build along side it.

With three places, all but a stone throw from the river, Konditor & Cook is definitely one of the best reasons for living in this part of London.

Kitchen Scene

Customers often wonder why the muffins are still warm or the brownies so nice and gooey. This is because at Konditor & Cook we make and bake the cakes & savouries on the premises and our food goes directly from the oven to the counter.

The four main stores all have their kitchen in situ. At the Gherkin it is housed in the big black ‘space ship’ hanging from the ceiling. At Borough Market, the savoury kitchen is visible at the back of the shop, whilst the bakery is in the basement. In Grays Inn Rd, both sweet & savoury share a spacious basement kitchen.

Waterloo’s kitchen is tucked on to the back of the terrace. Do peak through the windows next time you’re passing.
It’s quite a small space and not unlike working on a submarine (pic) Our people love the camaraderie though and so do the regulars – sometimes they pop in to say hello, or comment on a particularly nice dish or cake.

The avoidance of lengthy chill chains makes our food so wonderfully fresh & delicious!
